2006 Massachusetts Code - Chapter 13 — Section 81. Term.

Section 81. The term of office of each member of the board shall be three years, except that of the members of the first board, two shall be appointed for terms of one year, two members for terms of two years, and three members for terms of three years. At least one member representing the general public and at least one member from a minority group, as defined by the federal Department of Health, Education and Welfare, shall be appointed for the initial term of three full years.
