(a) Form of certificate. -- In taking an acknowledgment or performing another notarial act that requires certification, a certificate endorsed on or attached to the instrument or document is sufficient for all intents and purposes if the certificate:
(1) shows the date of the notarial act; and
(2) states, in substance, that the person appearing before the officer acknowledged the instrument as the person's act or made or signed the instrument or document under oath.
(b) Failure to state place of execution or acknowledgment. -- An instrument or document may not be rendered invalid by a failure to state the place of execution or acknowledgment.
