§ 19-607. Penalties

  • (a) In general. -- A person who violates any provision of this title is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $ 1,000 or imprisonment not exceeding 1 year or both.

  • (b) Maximum limit. -- The fines assessed under §§ 19-313 and 19-408 of this title may not exceed $ 5,000 per violation, or a maximum aggregate of $ 10,000 for a 2-year license term, and shall be paid to the Secretary within 10 days after final adjudication of any hearing or upon the waiver of any hearing.

  • (c) Who may be assessed penalties. -- Notwithstanding the provisions of §§ 19-313 and 19-408 of this title, the Secretary may fine either the licensed agency or the individual working on behalf of the licensed agency, but not both, for the same violation.
