§ 11-208.1 - Civil penalties
(a) Amounts. -- Instead of pursuing criminal charges provided in this article, the Secretary may impose on any person who violates this title a civil penalty of:
(1) For a first violation, not more than $ 500;
(2) For a second violation, not more than $ 1,000; or
(3) For a third or subsequent violation, not more than $ 2,000.
(b) Disposition of collected funds. -- Penalties collected by the Secretary under this section shall be paid into the General Fund of the State.
(c) Regulations. -- The Secretary shall adopt regulations necessary to carry out the provisions of this section.
