§2-504.

(a) The clerk of each circuit court shall receive an annual salary of not more than $98,500 as set by the Board of Public Works on the basis of the relative volume of business and receipts in the clerk’s office.

(b) A clerk shall devote his full working time to the duties of the clerk’s office and is entitled to the salary prescribed in subsection (a) of this section.

(c) The salary of a clerk is payable biweekly.

§ 2-504 - Compensation of clerk [Effective October 1, 2013].

(a) In general. -- The clerk of each circuit court shall receive an annual salary of not more than $ 114,500 as set by the Board of Public Works on the basis of the relative volume of business and receipts in the clerk's office.

(b) Devotion of full time to duties. -- A clerk shall devote his full working time to the duties of the clerk's office and is entitled to the salary prescribed in subsection (a) of this section.

(c) Manner of payment. -- The salary of a clerk is payable biweekly.

§ 2-504 - 1. Annual budget submitted by clerks

(a) Generally. -- The clerk of each circuit court shall submit annually a budget for the review and approval of the Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals in such form as prescribed by the Secretary of Budget and Management.

(b) Budget requirements. -- Each budget submitted under this section shall:

(1) Specify for each clerk's office:

(i) The number of positions;

(ii) The salaries;

(iii) The expenses; and

(iv) The anticipated revenues; and

(2) Be submitted to the Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals in a uniform format as prescribed by the Secretary of Budget and Management.

(c) Preliminary estimates. -- The Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals shall provide preliminary estimates of budget appropriations for the clerk of each circuit court to the Secretary of Budget and Management.

(d) Submission to Secretary of Budget and Management; inclusion in State budget. --

(1) The Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals shall submit the budget of the clerk of each circuit court to the Secretary of Budget and Management at the time prescribed by the Secretary.

(2) Each budget shall be included in the State budget as part of the budget for the Judicial Branch of State government as submitted by the Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals.
