Section 5-401 - Definitions.

§ 5-401. Definitions.
 

(a)  In general.- In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.

The reference to this "subtitle" is substituted for the former reference to this "subheading" to reflect the reorganization of the former statutory provisions on the handgun roster in this subtitle. 

(b)  Board.- "Board" means the Handgun Roster Board.

(c)  Handgun.- "Handgun" has the meaning stated in § 4-201 of the Criminal Law Article.

(d)  Handgun roster.- "Handgun roster" means the roster of authorized handguns compiled by the Board under § 5-405 of this subtitle.

The reference to "authorized" handguns is substituted for the former reference to "permitted" handguns to avoid confusion with handguns that require the issuance of a permit.

(e)  Secretary.- "Secretary" means the Secretary of State Police or the Secretary's designee.
