Maryland State Government Section 13-403

      (a)      In recognition of the cultural and human values of poetry and poetic expression, the Governor annually shall proclaim October 15 as Poetry Day.

      (b)      The proclamation shall urge cultural, educational, patriotic, and religious organizations to observe Poetry Day properly.
