Maryland Family Law Section 13-101

      (a)      In this title the following words have the meanings indicated.

      (b)      "Destitute adult child" means an adult child who:

            (1)      has no means of subsistence; and

            (2)      cannot be self-supporting, due to mental or physical infirmity.

      (c)      "Destitute parent" means a parent who:

            (1)      has no means of subsistence; and

            (2)      cannot be self-supporting, due to old age or mental or physical infirmity.
