Maryland Business Occupations and Professions Section 4-301

      (a)      Except as otherwise provided in this title, an individual shall be licensed by the Board to practice barbering before the individual may practice barbering in the State.

      (b)      This section does not apply to:

            (1)      a student while the student practices barbering in accordance with § 4-301.1 or § 4-301.2 of this subtitle;

            (2)      a registered apprentice barber; or

            (3)      an individual authorized in the discretion of the Board to practice barbering under special circumstances.
