Article - Governor - Executive and Administrative Departments

§ 14-904.

      (a)      There is a Board of Directors of the Assistive Technology Guaranteed Loan Program.

      (b)      The Board of Directors shall consist of:

            (1)      The Secretary of the Department of Budget and Management or the Secretary's designee;

            (2)      A representative from the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Developmental Disabilities Administration appointed by the Secretary of the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene;

            (3)      A representative of the State Department of Education Division of Rehabilitation Services appointed by the State Superintendent of Schools; and

            (4)      Eight individuals appointed by the Governor, confirmed by the Senate of Maryland, as follows:

                  (i)      Four members of the public with significant experience in finance, accounting, investment management, or consumer lending; and

                  (ii)      Four members of the public with disabilities or who assist individuals with disabilities at least one of whom must be a member of the Maryland Commission on Disabilities.

      (c)      The term of a member appointed by the Governor is 4 years.

      (d)      At the end of a term, a member continues to serve until a successor is appointed and qualifies.

      (e)      A member who is appointed after a term has begun serves for the rest of the term and until a successor is appointed and qualifies.

      (f)      A member appointed by the Governor may serve no more than two terms.

      (g)      The Department of Disabilities shall staff the Board.
