Maryland County Commissioners Section 183
§ 183.
  Members of the board of directors elected or appointed under § 181 or § 182 of this subtitle shall hold office for a term of three years and until their successors are elected or appointed, provided that any person elected or appointed to fill a vacancy caused by death or resignation shall hold the office for the unexpired term and until his successor is elected or appointed. In case of a vacancy on the board of directors caused by death, resignation, or for any reason the board of county commissioners shall have authority to appoint a director to serve until the next annual meeting.
