§122. Location of county buildings; referendum required
The county commissioners may not remove a county building or erect a new one outside of the county seat, without first notifying the officers of each municipality in the county of their intentions and of the place where they propose to locate it. The municipal officers shall present that proposal to the municipality at its next annual meeting or election for choosing state or municipal officers and receive, sort and count the votes for and against the proposal. They and the clerks shall certify and return the votes to the county clerk. The commissioners shall examine the votes and act according to the decision of a majority. [1987, c. 737, Pt.
