§10.2. Derelict Houseboat Fund Account

RS 10.2 - Derelict Houseboat Fund Account

There is hereby created a special statutorily dedicated fund account within the state treasury known as the "Derelict Houseboat Fund Account" which shall consist of those revenues collected from the registration of houseboats provided for in R.S. 34:851.32(C). Subject to legislative appropriation, the monies in the account shall be used for the purpose of awarding grants to parish governments to remove any unattended, derelict, junked, or abandoned houseboat in any canal, coulee, drainage ditch, outfall canal, bayou, bay, lake, or any other waterway, whether navigable or not, or on the banks thereof within the state of Louisiana. An amount not to exceed ten percent of the annual appropriation may be used for the administration and enforcement of this Section and Part IV of Chapter 4 of Title 34 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950. The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission may promulgate rules and regulations in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act to provide for the application, administration, and award of such grants. Monies deposited into the account shall be categorized as fees and self-generated revenue for the sole purpose of reporting related to the executive budget, supporting documents, and general appropriation bills.
