§65. Extent of authority of commissioners

The authority granted in this Part to the board confers on the board the right to do all things necessary and proper to carry into effect the establishing, maintaining, and operating of foreign trade zones in the New Orleans International Airport, the South Louisiana Port Commission, the Lake Charles Harbor and Terminal District, the Port of New Orleans, the Livingston-Tangipahoa Parishes Port Commission, the Caddo-Bossier Port Commission, the Vidalia Port Commission, the England Economic and Industrial Development District, or the Greater Baton Rouge Port Commission or any port commission or port, harbor, terminal district, the New Orleans Regional Business Park, and any airport with an industrial park or property designated for industrial development, and to comply fully with the provisions of 19 U.S.C. §81a et seq. and all regulations that may be made under it. Further, a board which does not have federally authorized foreign trade zone status may enter into agreement with another board which has federally granted foreign trade zone authority to establish, maintain, or operate a subzone or subzones within the jurisdiction of the board, provided that such agreement shall not limit or affect the powers and authority of either board.
