§472. Lost certificate or number plate

A. If any number plate or registration certificate issued hereunder is lost, mutilated, or becomes illegible, or is transferred from one person to another, the person who is entitled thereto shall make immediate application for and obtain a duplicate or substitute therefor, upon furnishing affidavit or information of such fact satisfactory to the commissioner and upon payment of ten dollars for duplicate plate or plates and four dollars for each duplicate certificate of registration.

B. All collections made under the provisions of this Section shall be apportioned to funds in the same manner as if they were part of the license tax imposed. However, three dollars of each fee for a duplicate certificate of registration shall be deposited in the state general fund and eight dollars of each fee for a duplicate plate or plates shall be paid into the state treasury on or before the twenty-fifth day of each month following their collection.
