§1994. Multipurpose service programs

A. The office may establish multipurpose service programs for displaced homemakers, designed to enable the displaced homemaker to contribute to society and maintain the economic security of the family.

B. The programs should be developed by working with federal, state, and local agencies, and with private employers to coordinate efforts directed toward displaced homemakers. The office may, in carrying out the provisions of this Chapter, accept, use, and dispose of federal funds granted for the purpose of implementing the objectives of this Chapter. The service shall be limited to:

(1) Referral to counseling of displaced homemakers with respect to appropriate job opportunities.

(2) Identifying community jobs for which displaced homemakers may be suited.

(3) Developing plans to include more displaced homemakers in existing training and displacement programs.

(4) Referring displaced homemakers to agencies which may provide information and assistance with respect to health care, financial matters, education, nutrition, and legal programs.

C. Supervisory and technical positions, relating to multipurpose service programs established under this Chapter shall, to the maximum extent feasible, be filled by displaced homemakers.

D. A report on the progress of the displaced homemaker programs shall be submitted annually to the Joint Legislative Committee on Health and Human Resources.
