§916. Qualifications of board members

            A.(1) Each registered nurse and advanced practice registered nurse member of the board shall possess all of the following qualifications:

            (a) Is a citizen of the United States and has been a resident of Louisiana for at least one year immediately prior to appointment.

            (b) Holds a current, unencumbered, unrestricted, Louisiana license to practice as a registered nurse.

            (c) Has at least three years of experience in a field of nursing practice.

            (d) Is actively engaged in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse at the time of appointment.

            (2) In addition to the qualifications provided in Paragraph (1) of this Subsection, at least two registered nurse members of the board shall have a minimum of a bachelor of science degree in nursing.

            B. Each consumer member of the board shall possess all of the following qualifications:

            (1) Is a citizen of the United States and has been a resident of Louisiana for at least one year immediately prior to appointment.

            (2) Has attained the age of majority.

            (3) Has never engaged in any activity directly related to the practice of professional nursing.

            (4) Has never been convicted of a felony.
