§4690.14. Additional notice to certain property owners

A. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, in addition to any notice required by law relative to a pending public works project by any parish or municipality, and at least ten days prior to the public hearing, a good faith attempt to notify the owner or owners of record of the property directly affected by the public works project may be made by sending an official notice by United States mail of the time and place of the public hearing and the general subject matter of the proposed public works project.

B. In addition to any current provision of law regarding notice relative to a public hearing related to pending public works projects, the state and political subdivisions of the state may adopt policies to give additional notice to the owner of record of the property directly affected by the proposed public works project. The notice shall be made by sending an official notice by United States mail at least ten business days prior to the time and place of the public hearing and the general subject matter of the proposed public works project.
