§494. Appeal from decision of freeholders; injunction

Whenever any person is dissatisfied with the decision of the freeholders laying out a road over his property pursuant to the provisions of R.S. 48:492, either as to the course the road is to take or as to the damages assessed in his favor, he may appeal to the district court of the parish in which the road lies, at the next session of the court after the laying out of the road or the assessment of the damages. No appeal shall be set aside for want of form in bringing it before the courts. Injunctions to stay proceedings may be issued in the case when the case requires.
