§873. Age verification requirements
A. No person shall mail, ship, or otherwise deliver cigarettes in connection with a delivery sale unless prior to the first delivery sale to such consumer, the consumer's age is verified through electronic or written communication. The commissioner of the office of alcohol and tobacco control may promulgate rules and regulations pursuant to the Administrative Procedure Act, R.S. 49:950 et seq., to implement this Section.
B. Persons accepting purchase orders for delivery sales may request that prospective consumers provide their e-mail addresses.
