§231.9.  Job preparation, training and education activities under FIND Work

A.  To the extent that appropriations are available and as authorized under the Federal Welfare Reform Act and any rules or regulations adopted pursuant thereto, the secretary shall establish and make available to eligible FITAP recipients the allowable work, training, and education activities of the FIND Work program.

B.  To the extent that appropriations are available and to the extent allowed under any applicable federal law or rule or regulation, each housing authority created by or pursuant to Part 1 of Chapter 3 of Title 40 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, shall establish a local tenants' council, or designate an existing tenants' council, or a committee of the board of commissioners of the housing authority, to be responsible for the development and implementation of a program for tenants in the housing projects to participate in a work experience program specifically designed to provide maintenance and upkeep of housing units managed by the housing authority.  The secretary shall adopt rules and regulations to implement this Subsection and shall monitor the effectiveness of such programs.
