§2095.  Adult Education and Literacy Standing Committee

The commission shall create an Adult Education and Literacy Standing Committee as the advisory committee formed pursuant to 20 U.S.C. 1205(g).  The Adult Education and Literacy Standing Committee shall assist in the development of a state plan for literacy and for adult education that fulfills the literacy and adult education needs of the state, especially with respect to the needs of the labor market, economic development goals, and the needs of individuals.  It shall set forth measurable goals for improving literacy levels and retention in literacy programs and long-term learning goals of individuals.  It shall describe a comprehensive approach for achieving such goals.
