§2062.  Goals

The goals of the commission are:

(1)  To develop a multiagency cooperative approach to job training by promoting comprehensive workforce development programs, especially professional and technical programs that equal the highest standards for achievement.

(2)  To develop the capacity of and provide significant opportunity for business and labor to assist in the development and delivery of workforce education and workforce training policy, programs, and performance standards.

(3)  To develop strategies that will upgrade the skills of our existing workforce and prepare new workers with the skills for a constantly changing economy.

(4)  To coordinate with the affected state agencies and workforce development entities the integrated delivery of all education, training, and employment, apprenticeship, and related programs to eliminate needless duplication and assure the efficient and effective provision of these services.

(5)  To insure the equitable distribution of quality education, training, and employment services statewide, especially to distressed and rural areas and areas serving the economically disadvantaged citizens of this state.
