UNIFORM TRANSFER OF DEPENDENTS ACT

§401.  Reciprocal agreements regarding interstate transportation of poor and indigent

The Department of Social Services, subject to the approval of the attorney general, may enter into reciprocal agreements with corresponding state agencies of other states regarding the interstate transportation of poor and indigent persons, and may arrange with the proper officials in this state for the acceptance, transfer, and support of persons receiving public aid in other states in accordance with the terms of the reciprocal agreements; provided that this state shall not, nor shall any parish or other political subdivision of this state, be committed to the support of persons who are not, in the opinion of the department, entitled to public support by the laws of this state.
