§194.  Interstate Commerce Commission certificate; necessity for filing

A.  Except as otherwise provided in Subsection B of this Section, it shall be unlawful for any motor carrier transporting property for compensation in interstate commerce in Louisiana for the transportation of which a certificate of public convenience and necessity or a permit is required from the Interstate Commerce Commission to operate over the public highways of this state without first having filed a certified copy of such Interstate Commerce Commission authority with the Louisiana Public Service Commission.

B.  Upon implementation of the single state registration system for motor carriers authorized by 49 U.S.C. 11506, it shall be unlawful for any motor carrier transporting property for compensation in interstate commerce in Louisiana for the transportation of which a certificate of public convenience and necessity or a permit is required from the Interstate Commerce Commission to operate over the public highways of this state without first having filed acceptable proof of such Interstate Commerce Commission authority with that carrier's designated single state.
