§1559.  Delinquent members of associations; demand for statements and collection of assessments by commissioner of insurance

The secretaries of the various associations shall report to the commissioner of insurance all fire insurance companies, associations, or underwriters failing to make statements of the amount of premiums received as provided in R.S. 22:1558 or failing to pay the assessments levied pursuant to that Section, with a statement of the amount due by each.  The commissioner of insurance shall make demand on the delinquent companies for the statements, and shall collect the amounts due by such delinquent companies.  He shall pay over the sums so collected to the association.  For this service the commissioner of insurance shall deduct a fee of five per cent of the amount collected and paid over.
