§2120.12.  Definitions

As used in this Part:

(1)  "Adult day care" means a group program designed to meet the individual needs of functionally impaired adults which is structured and comprehensive and which provides a variety of health, social, and related support services in a protective setting.

(2)  "Adult day care agency" or "agency" means any place owned or operated for profit or nonprofit by a person, society, agency, corporation, institution, or any other group wherein ten or more functionally impaired adults who are not related to the owner or operator of such agency are provided with health, social, and related support services for a portion of the twenty-four-hour day.

(3)  "Department" means the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals.

(4)  "Functionally impaired adults" means persons aged seventeen years of age or older who are physically , mentally, or socially impaired to a degree that they are in need of supervision.

(5)  "Institutionalization" means residential care and maintenance for all or most of the twenty-four-hour day.
