§262.  Additional salary of assistant district attorney

A.  Each assistant district attorney of the Eleventh Judicial District shall, subject to the provisions of R.S. 16:262(B), receive as compensation for his services, in addition to the annual salary paid by the state, an annual salary of four thousand eight hundred dollars, payable monthly.  The additional salary shall be paid by the parishes comprising the Eleventh Judicial District, apportioned as follows:

(1)  By the parish of DeSoto, the sum of two thousand four hundred dollars per annum.  

(2)  By the parish of Sabine, the sum of two thousand four hundred dollars per annum.  

B.  In the event the police jury of Sabine Parish should determine that it did not have sufficient funds, for this purpose, to pay the full amount of the annual salary designated for it, or, in the event the police jury of DeSoto Parish should determine that it did not have sufficient funds, for this purpose, to pay the full amount of the annual salary designated for it under the provisions of R.S. 16:262(A), the parish making the determination shall not be required to pay the full amount set forth in R.S. 16:262(A); however, each assistant district attorney shall receive as compensation for his services, in addition to the annual salary paid by the state, an annual salary of not less than one thousand eight hundred dollars, payable one-half by the parish of DeSoto and one-half by the parish of Sabine, such salary to be paid monthly.
