§643.  Failure to post bond or other security

Any person, firm, or corporation who shall engage in the business of purchasing milk from producers for the purpose of manufacturing, pasteurizing, or distributing milk or milk products within the state without having first posted the bond or other security that shall be required by the commissioner of agriculture and immigration, and as required by this Part, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be punished by a fine of not less than ten dollars nor more than two hundred dollars, or by imprisonment in the parish jail for not less than ten days nor more than six months, or both, in the discretion of the court.
