§2353.  Creation of eradication areas

The State Entomologist, subject to the approval of the Commissioner of Agriculture and Immigration, shall have authority to create and designate imported fire ant eradication areas.  The Commissioner of Agriculture and Immigration may declare all state laws and all regulations of the department pertaining to the eradication and control of imported fire ants to be in full force and effect in the designated area on and after the date stated.  Treatment will begin after this declaration by the Commissioner and after all property owners residing within the designated area have been notified.  Official notice of the establishment of imported fire ant eradication areas shall be published in the official journal of the State of Louisiana.
