214.565 Definitions for KRS 214.565 to 214.571. As used in KRS 214.565 to 214.571: (1) "Department" means the Department for Public Health in the Cabinet for Health and Family Services; (2) "Health care provider" means a licensed provider who has the care of pregnant women within his or her professional scope of practice; and (3) "Health facility" has the same meaning as in KRS 216B.015. Effective: June 27, 2025 History: Amended 2025 Ky. Acts ch. 121, sec. 10, effective June 27, 2025. -- Created 2022 Ky. Acts ch. 85, sec. 1, effective July 14, 2022. Legislative Research Commission Note (6/27/2025). 2025 Ky. Acts ch. 121, sec. 24, provides that the Act, which amended this statute, may be cited as the Mary Carol Akers Birth Centers Act. Legislative Research Commission Note (7/14/2022). 2022 Ky. Acts ch. 85, sec. 5, provides that the Act, which created KRS 214.565 to 214.571, may be cited as the Bella Dawn Streeval Law.
