453.020 Criminal prosecution, costs -- Collection. (1) (2) The defendant in a criminal action shall be adjudged to pay the cost of all continuances in his behalf. The cost of such continuances shall be collected by process as in civil cases. If the defendant is convicted of a misdemeanor, all costs unpaid may be collected in the same manner as a fine, and if he is convicted of a felony, all costs unpaid shall be collected by process as in civil cases.
