75A.070 Board to assume duties, responsibilities, and liabilities of previous entities merged into district -- Special taxing districts -- Agreements established by former entities.

75A.070 Board to assume duties, responsibilities, and liabilities of previous entities merged into district -- Special taxing districts -- Agreements established by former entities. The board, upon the assumption of office, shall assume all the duties, responsibilities, and liabilities of all previous entities that have been merged into the district. The territories of former districts, cities, and unincorporated territory shall become special taxing districts until their indebtedness has been relieved. Any agreements established by former entities now merged into the district for the provision of services outside the district as established and for other legally binding agreements only until expired shall remain in effect for terms of service and duration as the agreement created has specified.
