56.530 Abandonment of incompleted building projects -- Settlement with architects, engineers, and contractors.

56.530 Abandonment of incompleted building projects -- Settlement with architects, engineers, and contractors. The commission may abandon, or cause to be abandoned, the construction of any building finally approved by it and may change the purposes for which such building is being constructed or for which contracts have been entered into or were commenced by the state or any state agency. Likewise the cabinet may abandon, or cause to be abandoned, the construction of any building finally approved by it and may change the purposes for which such building is being constructed or for which contracts have been entered into or were commenced by the state or any state agency. In either event the cabinet is authorized to make such equitable adjustment or settlement with the architects, engineers and contractors employed in connection with such construction as it may deem just and equitable. If there is an adjustment or settlement with said architects, engineers or contractors, the cabinet is authorized to pay the same, or to approve the payment thereof, from any of the funds set forth in KRS 56.510.
