186.181 Seizure of canceled plates by Department of Kentucky State Police. The secretary of the Transportation Cabinet shall, upon receipt of a report from the Transportation Cabinet or the Department of Vehicle Regulation of a canceled motor vehicle registration plate, cause all members of the Department of Kentucky State Police and such peace officers as he or she may deem necessary, to be notified of the cancellation. It shall be the duty of all members of the Department of Kentucky State Police and of all peace officers to seize any registration plate bearing a canceled number and to report such seizure to the appropriate department.
