Chapter 98 - Health and welfare in cities of the first class and in counties containing such cities
98.300 Fiscal court of county containing a city of first class may establish department of welfare -- Consolidated local government may establish department of welfare -- Employees.

98.300 Fiscal court of county containing a city of first class may establish department of welfare -- Consolidated local government may establish department of welfare -- Employees. In each county containing a city of the first class, the fiscal court of the county may, by resolution, establish a department of welfare to be governed by the provisions of KRS 98.300 to 98.390. A consolidated local government may by resolution or ordinance establish or maintain a department of welfare to be governed by the provisions of KRS 98.300 to 98.390. Such department shall function from a date specified in such resolution or ordinance. The department shall consist of a director of welfare and such assistants and other employees as are necessary for the efficient performance of the welfare services of the county.
