16.075 Automobile liability insurance for State Police. (1) (2) (3) The Department of Kentucky State Police shall secure, or reimburse members of the State Police who purchase a rider on their personal motor vehicle insurance policy to secure, such automobile liability insurance and uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage as will reasonably protect the interest of members of the State Police when in the conduct of official business. Policies authorized by this section shall be purchased only in accordance with regulations prescribed by the commissioner of insurance and the secretary of the Finance and Administration Cabinet. The department shall determine the minimum coverage the member must purchase to be eligible for reimbursement under subsection (1) of this section and the maximum amount of reimbursement. The uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage shall be no less than the policy's liability limits for bodily injury or death. Effective: July 15, 2010 History: Amended 2010 Ky.
