Amygdalin (laetrile) is not a drug or a controlled substance under Kentucky statutes governing the use, manufacture, or distribution of drugs and controlled substances within the state. A physician may prescribe amygdalin (laetrile) pursuant to KRS 311.956 if the patient so requests on a written informed request form and the physician has determined the patient to be terminally ill.
