As used in KRS 251.420 to 251.510, unless the context requires otherwise: (1) "Person" means an individual storing grain for others and issuing a receipt for such grain or a scale ticket. (2) "Firm" or "corporation" means an individual, corporation, partnership, or two (2) or more persons having a joint or common interest in same venture, of storing grain for others and issuing a receipt for such grain or a scale ticket. (3) "Department" means the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. (4) "Stored grain" means grain received from a producer and unpaid for and held for a period longer than thirty (30) days after delivery of the last load. (5) "Board" means the State Board of Agriculture. (6) "Owner" means a person whose grain is in storage and has been issued a grain storage receipt or a scale ticket. (7) "Warehouseman" means an operator or the warehouse of an operator who stores grain for the public and is authorized to issue negotiable or both negotiable and nonnegotiable warehouse receipts.
