156.060 Quorum -- Meetings -- Location of office -- Compensation.
For meetings of the Kentucky Board of Education, a majority of the voting members
shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business. The board shall meet not
less than every three (3) months and at other times it may be called as provided in
this section. Special meetings of the board may be called by the chairperson, and
upon written request of two (2) members, the chairperson shall call a special
meeting of the board to be held not later than twenty (20) days following receipt of
the written request. The chairperson shall give notice through the secretary by
registered or certified mail, return receipt requested, to each member of the board at
least ten (10) days prior to the time of any meeting unless all members of the board
waive notice in writing. The offices of the board shall be at the seat of government in
the Department of Education and shall be provided by the state. Members of the
board may receive a per diem of one hundred dollars ($100) for each regular or
special meeting attended and actual expenses for attending meetings, and may be
reimbursed for other actual and necessary expenditures incurred in the performance
of their duties authorized by the board. The per diem and expenses shall be paid out
of the appropriation for the board.
