95.778 Books and accounts of treasurer -- Bond.
The treasurer of the board of trustees of the policemen's and firefighters' pension
fund shall be the custodian of said pension fund and shall securely and safely keep
the same, subject to the control and direction of said board, and shall keep his or her
books and accounts concerning such fund in such manner as may be prescribed by
the board and the said books and accounts shall always be subject to the inspection
of the board or any member thereof. The treasurer shall, within ten (10) days after
his appointment or election, execute a bond to the city with good and sufficient
surety, in such penal sum as the legislative body shall direct, to be approved by the
legislative body of said city, conditioned for the faithful performance of the duties of
his or her office, and that he or she will safely keep and well and truthfully account
for all money and properties which may come into his or her hands as such
treasurer; and that, upon the expiration of his or her term of office, he or she will
surrender and deliver to his or her successor all bonds, securities, and all
unexpended moneys or other properties which may have come into his or her hands
as treasurer of said fund. Said bond shall be filed in the office of the city clerk, as
other bonds, and may be sued on in the name of the said city, for the use of said
board of trustees, or in the name of the board of trustees, or any person or persons
injured by a breach thereof. The premium on said bond shall be paid out of said
pension fund in the manner provided in KRS 95.761 to 95.785 for expending sums.
