(1) (2) (3) The District Court may continue its jurisdiction over a hospitalized child for six (6) months beyond a child's eighteenth birthday for purposes of continuity of treatment. At the conclusion of the six (6) months, the cabinet may initiate proceedings under KRS Chapter 202A. A finding of jurisdiction under this section shall not necessarily preclude a finding of jurisdiction under KRS Chapter 620, 625, 630, or 635; however, jurisdiction under this section shall take precedence. No child shall be released from the jurisdiction of the court under this chapter if concurrent complaints under KRS Chapter 620, 625, 630, or 635 are pending. No child who has been certified to Circuit Court pursuant to KRS Chapter 640 shall be eligible for hospitalization under this chapter. Petitions for treatment of such youthful offenders shall be initiated under KRS Chapter 202A or 504. Effective:July 1, 1987 History: Created 1986 Ky. Acts ch. 423, sec. 159, effective July 1, 1987.
