17.115 Criminal identification activities -- State institutions and peace officers to cooperate with cabinet. (1) The Justice and Public Safety Cabinet shall: (a) Receive and file fingerprints, photographs, and other records pertaining to the investigation of crime and the apprehension of criminals; and (b) Cooperate with the state, county, and city law enforcing agencies of other states and of the United States in order to develop and carry on an interstate <br>and national system of criminal identification. (2) Persons in charge of any penal or correctional institution in the state, and all state law enforcement and peace officers operating identification facilities shall cooperate <br>in providing the cabinet with fingerprints and descriptions of all persons lawfully <br>committed to their custody or detained by them in cases where fingerprints and <br>descriptions are taken, together with a report of the disposition of all cases of such <br>persons.
