304.17A-720 Administrative regulations for standardized health claim attachments -- Conformity with federal standards. (1) In order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the health care system through administrative simplification of billing requirements, the executive director shall prescribe, through the promulgation of administrative regulations, standardized health claim attachments to be used by all insurers requiring additional medical information to process health care claims. The Kentucky State Uniform Billing Committee shall make recommendations to the executive director on the standardization of attachments. (2) Any administrative regulations that prescribe standardized health claim attachments shall be updated to conform with federal standards following the release of national requirements for transactions and data elements in accordance with the Federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, 42 U.S.C. Chapter 6A, Subchapter XXV, sec. 300gg et seq. Effective: July 14, 2000 History:Created 2000 Ky. Acts ch. 436, sec. 11, effective July 14, 2000. Legislative Research Commission Note (6/20/2005). 2005 Ky. Acts chs. 11, 85, 95, 97, 98, 99, 123, and 181 instruct the Reviser of Statutes to correct statutory references to agencies and officers whose names have been changed in 2005 legislation confirming the reorganization of the executive branch.
