39-1208. Agreements with and grants-in-aid to charitable organizations for employment of physically handicapped. The secretary of social and rehabilitation services, subject to appropriations made for such purposes by the legislature, is hereby authorized to enter into agreements with and to make grants-in-aid to organizations or institutions engaging in charitable and benevolent activities, with the purpose of developing employment for the physically handicapped in Kansas, including severely handicapped cerebral palsied adults. Contracts entered into by the secretary of social and rehabilitation services may provide for the purchase of land, including improved property, construction or alteration of improvements thereon, and the purchase or lease of equipment required for operation of facilities for the use of disabled persons.
