Article 21.--CITY ELECTIONS

      25-2107.   Time of general city elections; exception by charter ordinance; terms of office. The general election of city officers shall be held on the first Tuesday in April. Except as otherwise provided by law or as provided by charter ordinance passed after April 30, 1968, pursuant to article 12, section 5, of the constitution of Kansas, every city shall have an election of city officers in odd-numbered years only, and the terms of city officers shall be two (2) years: Provided, however, That the provisions of this section shall not invalidate, repeal or otherwise affect any charter ordinance of any city of the third class having a population of not less than one thousand five hundred (1,500) nor more than two thousand (2,000) located in a county having a population of not less than fifty thousand (50,000) nor more than one hundred thousand (100,000), which ordinance had become effective prior to April 30, 1968.
