      75-7402.   Same; executive director; appointment; confirmation; temporary director; unclassified service; officers and employees. (a) The Kansas health policy authority shall appoint the executive director of the authority subject to confirmation by the senate as provided in K.S.A. 75-4315b, and amendments thereto. The Kansas health policy authority may appoint a temporary director to serve and to administer and oversee the operations of the authority until such time as an executive director can be appointed and commences employment.

      (b)   The executive director of the Kansas health policy authority shall be in the unclassified service under the Kansas civil service act and shall serve at the pleasure of the Kansas health policy authority. The executive director of the Kansas health policy authority shall receive a salary fixed by the Kansas health policy authority, subject to approval by the governor.

      (c)   The executive director shall have the authority to hire and supervise the other personnel of the Kansas health policy authority. Except as provided in K.S.A. 2005 Supp. 75-7416, and amendments thereto, and as otherwise provided by this act, all officers and employees of the Kansas health policy authority shall be in the unclassified service under the Kansas civil service act and shall serve at the pleasure of the executive director of the Kansas health policy authority.
