2006 Kansas Code - 65-6123

      65-6123.   Emergency medical technician-defibrillator; authorized activities. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, an emergency medical technician-defibrillator may:

      (a)   Perform any of the activities identified in K.S.A. 65-6121, and amendments thereto;

      (b)   when approved by medical protocols and where voice contact by radio or telephone is monitored by a physician, physician assistant where authorized by a physician or licensed professional nurse where authorized by a physician, and direct communication is maintained, upon order of such person, may perform electrocardiographic monitoring and defibrillation;

      (c)   perform, during an emergency, those activities specified in subsection (b) before contacting the persons identified in subsection (b) when specifically authorized to perform such activities by medical protocols; or

      (d)   perform, during nonemergency transportation, those activities specified in this section when specifically authorized to perform such activities by medical protocols.
