2006 Kansas Code - 38-1587

      38-1587.   Appointment of permanent guardian. (a) A permanent guardian may be appointed after a finding of unfitness pursuant to K.S.A. 38-1583 and amendments thereto or with the consent and agreement of the parents.

      (b)   Upon appointment of the permanent guardian, the court shall discharge the child from the custody of the secretary.
