CHAPTER 515F - CASUALTY INSURANCE
515F.1 - PURPOSE OF CHAPTER.



        515F.1  PURPOSE OF CHAPTER.
         1.  The purpose of this chapter is to promote the public welfare
      by regulating insurance rates so they are not excessive, inadequate,
      or unfairly discriminatory, and to authorize and regulate limited
      cooperative action among insurers in ratemaking-related activities
      and in other matters within the scope of this chapter.  This chapter
      is not intended to:
         a.  Prohibit or discourage reasonable competition.
         b.  Prohibit or encourage, except to the extent necessary to
      accomplish its purpose, uniformity in rating systems, rating plans,
      or practices.
         2.  This chapter shall be liberally interpreted to carry into
      effect the provisions of this section.
